Welcome Back!  We are now registering all new and returning Orca swimmers and their siblings (ages 5 to 18 as of May 1, 2009).  We had an awesome 2009 season both in and out of the pool.  The kids did great and with the help of our parent volunteers we ran speedy and efficient meets.  Thanks for your continued support and enthusiasm.

 

FEES

 

The fees listed below include a team T-shirt and a trophy.  We offer a reduced rate of $30 to Swimmers ages 15 and up as of May 1, 2010.

IMPORTANT TEAM POLICIES

 

  • Refund Policy No refunds after the Friday of the first week of practice

  • No Shows – We are a competitive summer swim team so we are asking parents not to register their swimmers if they will not be able to attend at least 3 of the 5 regular season meets. 

  • Attire - Team T-shirts will be provided for all swimmers.  Team swim suits and swim caps are highly encouraged.  The caps will be available for purchase.  The suits will be sold at the Practice swim meet on May 22nd and the first meet held June 5.  Swimmers may wear any of the suits from previous years during swim meets.  For parents and siblings additional T-shirts are available for $10.00 each.

  • Volunteers – The Orca Swim Team is a volunteer organization.  Each family should expect to work 5 shifts (half a swim meet) a season during the pre- and regular season meets.  Families with multiple children on the swim team may be needed for occasional additional shifts.  If your family will miss a swim meet, you may be asked to work more than one shift at another meet, especially for home meets that require large numbers of volunteers.

  • Friends and Family Sponsor – Your donations are tax deductible. You can include your donation to the team with your registration.  This donation allows the team to keep registration fees down and subsidize the swimmer parties and the end of season party.  It also helps the team with big purchases such as new starting blocks, swim practice aids, timer systems, and tents.

 

REGISTRATION

 

Fill out the registration forms ENTIRELY (incomplete forms will not be accepted and may result in a delay of the swimmer’s participation in swim practices).  A Medical Release Form MUST be filled out that includes information on EACH individual swimmer.  A swimmer without a signed Medical Release Form will NOT be allowed to practice or participate in a meet.  THIS WILL BE ENFORCED for the swimmers safety and the Orca Team safety.

HANDBOOKS

 

Team handbook will be posted on the website www.PineBrookWoodOrcas.org .  This electronic handbook contains answers to most of your questions as well as a team roster (as of that date), so please be sure to read it thoroughly.

 

SPONSORS

 

We are looking for sponsors!  If you would like to be a sponsor or know of someone who would like to be one, please contact an Orca Board Member or by email sponsor@pinebrookwoodorcas.org .  We have four different levels of business sponsorship available and a “Friends and Family” sponsorship.  Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum business sponsorships include ads in our handbook, sponsor names on the back of our team T-shirt, sponsor names on our website and announcements at our home meets.  Bronze, Silver and Gold Sponsors will be posted on banners hung during our home meets.  Platinum sponsors are posted on individual banners hung at the home meets.  Names of our “Friends and Family Sponsor” donors will be listed in our handbook. Friends and Family donations can be included on the registration form.  The money we raise will offset costs for new team equipment (i.e. tents, starting system, etc…) and allow us to keep registration fees low.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

 

  • April 20, 2010 - Mandatory Parents Meeting  7:00pm-9:00pm at University Baptist in the Chapel

  • May 3, 2010  – After school practice begins.  We use both the Pine Brook and Brookwood pools.

  • May 22, 2010  – Intra-squad meet and team swim suit sales

  • June 7 – Morning practice begins.  We use both the Pine Brook and Brookwood pools.

  • Meets – Begin mid-May and continue through the month of June.  Please try to plan your vacations after June (or after July 11th, for those who qualify to swim in the Championship Series).

  • July 12 – End of Season Party
